Ideal Network Enabled Server Environment
نویسندگان
چکیده
Network Enabled Server environments developed quickly in the mid 1990s. Different approaches adopting diverse technologies have emerged and these environments have continued to evolve. In this paper we have envisioned the characteristics of an ideal NES environment for the perspective of usability and efficiency. It is hoped that this information, synthesized from Surveying many Network Enabled Server Environments, will facilitate developers in improving these environments. The perspective of administrators, application vendors, developers, owners and users on popular Network Enabled Server Environments are presented.

A Scalable Approach to Network Enabled Servers
This report presents the architecture and the algorithms used in DIET (Distributed Interactive Engineering Toolbox), a hierarchical set of components to build Network Enabled Server applications in a Grid environment. This environment is built on top of different tools which are able to locate an appropriate server depending of the client’s request, the data location (which can be anywhere on t...
متن کاملShort Message Service in a Grid-Enabled Computing Environment
Pervasive computing provides an attractive vision for the future of computing. Mobile computing devices such as mobile phones together with a land-based and wireless communication network infrastructure are the existing technical prerequisites for continuous access to networked services. The security of the system is a high concern in this environment, as well as its usability. This paper prese...
متن کاملA Monitoring and Visualization Tool and Its Application for a Network Enabled Server Platform
Monitoring grid platforms has recently gained a wide interest. This kind of platform highly distributed across different domains leads to several design and implementation problems. We have designed a new monitoring platform and visualization tool adapted for Network Enabled Server systems. This environment, highly tunable for different middleware platforms has been successfully validated on th...
متن کاملPerformance benchmarking of wireless Web servers q
The advent of mobile computers and wireless networks enables the deployment of wireless Web servers and clients in short-lived ad hoc network environments, such as classroom area networks. The purpose of this paper is to benchmark the performance capabilities of wireless Web servers in such an environment. Network traffic measurements are conducted on an in-building IEEE 802.11b wireless ad hoc...
متن کاملEJVM: an economic Java run-time environment for embedded devices
As network-enabled embedded devices and Java grow in their popularity, embedded system researchers start seeking ways to make these devices Java-enabled. However, it is a challenge to apply Java technology to these devices due to their shortage of resources. In this paper, we propose EJVM (Economic Java Virtual Machine), an economic way to run Java programs on network-enabled and resource-limit...
